EVENT:  LAB Explosion! (LEMFHA Amusements & Activities Blastoff!)`

The LAB is an explosive beginning to Frye-Mason/ vacation offering exciting activities and amusement for all ages.  Creative group games, endless family fun, age-appropriate prizes, gifts, and delicious food will highlight this festive gathering.  Get your T-shirts and souvenir bags!

LAB Technicians:  Melvin Robinson, Mentor

Hezekiah Lockridge, Protege`

Melvin and Hezekiah are both direct descendants of the Omealia Frye Robinson family line.

Heze is the son of James & Wynell Robinson Lockriddge. He has been creative and committed since he started as a protege with the LEMFHA Board of Directors in early 2022. Heze has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan.  He lives in Ohio and works as a Credit Analyst for Citizens Bank.  He enjoys basketball and ultimate frisbee as pastimes.

Melvin (Heze's uncle) is an exemplary family man.  He is highly supportive of Frye-Mason: creating and hosting the Frye-Mason Families Facebook page, spearheading the Frye-Mason family prayer, leading local family gatherings, and chairing or co-hosting several family reunions. He is retired from General Motors and currently serves as retirees' chaplain.  He and his beautiful wife, Valerie, have been married for 34 years and have one daughter, Chelsea.

The Community House is a versatile event space in the affluent northern Chicago suburb of Hinsdale. Frye-Masons will have access to several areas:

Kettering Hall -- the main venue for the evening, Kettering Hall is the largest space at the Community House.  It boasts high ceilings, custom lighting, includes a beautiful and inviting foyer, and accommodates up to 200 people. The Hall also offers a stage equipped with professional sound and lighting.  (Karaoke anyone?)

Patio -- Go beyond the walls--relax and spread outside to a beautifully landscaped, spacious, concrete patio.  Adults, enjoy a walk.  Children play in the park adjoining the patio. 

Gym -- The play space options continue to get better! Enjoy basketball... how about pickleball, in this full-size, collegiate gym.   

The Community House provides complimentary WiFi and is easily accessible with generous on-site and street parking.

EVENT:  FLAME Gala & Red Carpet (Family Legacy Awards & Member Extravaganza)

The fire of the fabulous FLAME Red Carpet burns again! Six years after the inaugural 2018 FLAME Gala, FLAME 2024 reignites the spark… this time the heat is intensified!  Be wowed by the majestic beauty of Frye-Mason -- ladies, radiate in colorful, exquisite evening dresses; gentlemen, style in tailored tuxedos and suave suits. 

Arrive at Medinah Shriners, and the portico has you covered! Exit your vehicle, and your shoes never touch the pavement. From the curb to the lobby, walk on lush, red carpet. Prepare to be mesmerized as you enter the “Memory Garden”. What is that? Something like you’ve never seen! 

Pass the vaulted, two-story lobby, and enter nearly 9,000 square feet of elaborate décor complemented by soft lights. Add a stage… enjoy live music and singing.  Then there’s the dais, where “the chosen” will be seated and honored.  Relax, no rush… enjoy a spectacular evening flavored with delicious food, fabulous fashion, and infused with family fun, gift-giving, and awards.  In all of this, we celebrate, not just family, but we elevate in worship to the King most High. 

FLAME Fanners:  Julia Weatherspoon, Mentor

Jaramys Mosley, Protege

Jaramys is the granddaughter of Spencer Frye, Sr., who was the fifth Frye-Mason descendant. She has been a LEMFHA protégé since 2022 and serves as Team Lead.  Jaramys lives in Chicago and has a fellowship from the University of Illinois Chicago where she is obtaining a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Her pastimes include arts and crafts,  and listening to audiobooks.

Julia is the daughter of Lem Frye, Jr., the 9th Frye-Mason descendant, and has served as secretary of the LEMHA Board of Directors since 2017.  Julia is the quintessential fashionmonger with a genius for grand event planning and design.  She is the mother of two sons, T.J. and Ashton, one daughter, Arianna, and has one grandson, Amir.

Medinah Shriners is a premier venue affording nearly 9,000 square feet of uninhibited, creative event space.  It is surrounded by a magnificently landscaped lawn, providing expansive, on-site parking.

EVENT: Part A - Morning BAR (Breakfast Buffet, Auction & Recreation) 

Rise and shine! Round off the 40th Anniversary Frye-Mason The Experience with a hot, scrumptious breakfast buffet.  Eat your fill of scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, waffles, sausage, bacon, fresh-baked muffins, croissants, sliced, fresh fruit, and chilled juices.

After breakfast, the fun continues with an exciting auction full of great items and surprises.  We won't spoil it for you, just come prepared to laugh, outbid, and have loads of fun.  Past events have included decor, personal keepsakes, sports memorabilia, popular electronics, and jewelry.

In 2018, the SMART Expo was a tremendous success!  Family members have asked to bring it back for 2024.  Now you can see, and be a part of, the ultimate Frye-Mason phenomenon.  Reserve your exhibit booth: Tell your Frye-Mason story... Share highlights about your specific family line and/or yourself---display memorabilia, accomplishments, businesses, hobbies, crafts, special interests, and skills.  Use unique materials and visuals to bring your display to life --pictures,  posters, lighting, PowerPoint, video, be creative--have fun!  Includes one single or shared skirted, rectangle table.

BAR Tenders and SMART Captains: 

Deborah Lynn Johnson and Margaret Frye

Lynn has been a vital force in chairing Frye-Mason reunions and supporting family functions for many years, including being a strong team player working with and encouraging other reunion chairpersons.  Her father was Lewis Frye, Sr., the 10th descendant of Frye-Mason. Lynn is the owner-operator of Sista’s hair salon.  She and her wonderful husband, Jerry, have a family of eight children and several grandchildren.

Margaret is the granddaughter of Lewis Frye, Sr.  She holds a Doctorate of Education in Christian Education Leadership from Regent University.  She is Director of Seeds of Wisdom Early Development Preschool Program, and a member of the Education Committee, COGIC International Department of Women. Margaret lives in Minnesota and has been a supportive LEMFHA protégé since 2022.  Margaret's hobbies include spending time with family and graphic design.
